A Bit About Speranța Moraru
Speranța (“Hope”) Moraru is a distinguished classical composer and artist. She creates and plays piano music that connects with her listeners, speaks to the soul, and tells unique stories. Her commitment to these areas of music shines through in her work, especially in her newest pieces.
Moraru was born in the Republic of Moldova, located between Romania and Ukraine. In 2014, she moved to London, England, and fell in love with the city over the years. While she still lives and works in London Town, her audience has grown worldwide.
At the young age of eight, Moraru began to study piano professionally at a conservatoire or institution specializing in music study and training. She already had a love, passion, and devotion toward classical piano music. It motivated her to learn as much as possible about playing and composing during her education.
While many of the best classical composers grew up around musical expertise, Moraru's proclivity was unique. None of her family members were musicians; in fact, her father was an engineer and taught electromechanical engineering, and her mother taught college math. However, their fortitude for numbers may have contributed to her aptitude for beautiful rhythms and musical compositions.
Soon after beginning her classical music studies, Moraru became a junior classical composer. Remarkably, at nine, she was already composing her own music. Since then, her original classical music tracks have only become more sophisticated, layered, and nuanced.
Moraru has dedicated almost her entire life to elevating her piano and composition skills. Today, she can stand proudly amongst the top female classical composers in the world. Her new classical music album, Night and Woe, is a testament to that mastery; it offers some of the finest tracks on the market currently, and they would be delightful additions to any piano playlist.
Musical Influences
All the most incredible musicians have pulled their influences from the most famous classical artists in history. They may have helped them become interested in music, motivated them to continue working hard in the industry, or shaped their musical style in some way. For Moraru, this pianist and composer was none other than Frederic Chopin.
The first short compositions she ever heard were Nocturne Op. 9 No. 1, and Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2. These sweet, beautiful nocturnes are some of Chopin's most famous works; they quickly became Moraru's favorite pieces of piano music.
Moraru continues to relish Chopin's classical piano music. Undoubtedly, this classical composer greatly impacted her music career and lent influence to her melancholic style. Classical enthusiasts may even be able to pick up on subtle odes to Chopin in some of her latest tracks.

Ultimately, the entire classical music album could be read as a deeply complex life story.
Listeners can transcend into their own world as they experience this new classical music. They will pull in their own images, visions, and fantasies as they hear each note play into the next. From Heartbeat of Midnight to Bitter Resentment, they will be captivated and enchanted by every song.
The Story of Night and Woe
For Moraru, Night and Woe is a very special album and she hopes her audience will find it equally as meaningful. In fact, the album was released bit by bit which makes it even more of a memorable experience for this acclaimed classical composer.
In Spring 2020, Moraru released Night and Woe, Heartbeat of Midnight, Sound of My Soul, and Le Vicomte Waltz as singles. In fact, they were her first classical music singles, so it was one of the most exciting moments in her career.
Le Vicomte Waltz is one of the most significant singles and pieces on the classical piano music album. It was the first waltz composed by Moraru. She took inspiration from the Palace of Vaux-le-Vicomte and the Palace of Fontainebleau in France. While visiting the spacious ballrooms, she envisioned the royals dancing and indulging in the waltz music. The stunning gardens in the Vaux-le-Vicomte and the breathtaking horseshoe stairway in Fontainebleau furthered her imagination. Soon, she composed Le Vicomte Waltz with these images playing through her mind.
Night and Woe, Heartbeat of Midnight, and Sound of My Soul were also composed with vivid imagery and intense emotions that stay etched in her mind. They were written at different points in her life. Their sad and sorrowful tones seem to represent difficult moments and haunting memories.
While these four tracks are only a portion of the piano music album Night and Woe, there is no doubt that Moraru pulled from her own life for most or all of the tracks. Yet, it is safe to say every song remains deeply relatable. Whether listeners add a single to their piano playlist or take advantage of the entire album, they will be delighted by the introspection that awaits them.
